Tundish Nozzle

Tundish nozzle is  mainly used for continuous casting of small square billets, large billets, and rectangular billets.


Tundish nozzle is located at the bottom of the tundish and the upper end of the continuous casting machine, which is the channel for steel liquid to flow from the tundish to the continuous casting machine. The main function of tundish nozzle is to 1. transport molten steel; 2. Control the flow rate of molten steel.


Tundish nozzle is an important component necessary for continuous casting of tundish, mainly used for continuous casting of tundish in steelmaking plants. When molten steel flows into the CMT through the tundish nozzle from the tundish, it will cause erosion on the aperture of the nozzle, increase the amount of molten steel passing through per unit time, and the liquid level of molten steel in the CMT will rise. This requires increasing the drawing speed to digest excess molten steel. As the aperture of the tundish nozzle further expands, adjusting the drawing speed cannot digest excess molten steel. Therefore, it is necessary to release excess molten steel through the emergency swing nozzle, which is a waste for steel enterprises. Therefore, maintaining a constant aperture of the tundish nozzle is the most important standard for measuring quality. In actual production, it is measured by usage time.
